Lord, I Need You

Dear Lord,

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends You, and lead me along the path of everlasting life (Psa. 139:23-24).

Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults (Psa. 19:12). Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer. (Psa. 19:14).

Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When You said, “Seek My face,’ my heart said to You, ‘Your face, LORD, I will seek’ (Psa. 27:28).

For I am ready to fall, and my sorrow is continually before me. For I will declare my iniquity; I will be in anguish over my sin (Psa. 38:17-18).

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. . . Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. . . Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous spirit (Psa. 51:1-3, 10, 12).

Behold, I long for your precepts; revive me in Your righteousness . . . Revive me according to Your lovingkindness, so that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth . . . Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me (Psa. 119:40, 88, 133).

Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD; Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared. I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope (Psa. 130:1-5).

O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O LORD, You know it altogether (Psa. 139:1-4). Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips (Psa. 141:3).

Restore us, O God of our salvation, and cause Your anger toward us to cease . . . Will you not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You? Show us Your mercy, LORD, and grant us Your salvation (Psa. 85:4, 6-7).

As for me, I will call upon God, and the LORD shall save me. Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice (Psa. 55:16-17).

O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken heart, a broken and a contrite heart – these, O God, You will not despise (Psa. 51:15-17).

Bow down Your ear, O LORD, to hear me; for I am poor and needy . . . Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I cry out to You all day long. Rejoice the soul of Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul. For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You . . . For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are God. Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name. I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name forevermore (Psa. 86:1, 2-5, 10-12).

Amen.

  1. That is beautiful Alisa and a wonderful prayer for anyone- would love to print that one out and pray it every day. Great was to prepare with “Lord, let revival begin with me!”
